Having relocated to the Great Soggy North in 2001, Donald has been carving out a name for himself, busily
displaying his art at numerous shows, auctions and garage sales. His art is always a favorite for those that favor whimsy,
fantasy and bright shiny things in the dark. Through the years his work has won nominations and top awards.
adjusting to wearing layered clothing, Donald has produced book covers for Washington’s Goodfellow Press as well as
book cover design and inside artwork for the University of Washington “Anthology of Writers” for over five years.
Donald continues to do work for Goodfellow Press that is now located in the land of sun and raisins, Mesa Arizona.
As a native of California and transplant of Utah and Arizona, Donald advanced his craft by attending college to earn
degrees in Fine Art and Computer Animation. He naturally took to satirical cartooning and was a featured artist in two local
publications in Salt Lake City during the early to mid 1990’s. In Arizona, Donald pursued his interest in the computer
animation which crossed over into his work as another tool to create his art.
Presently, Donald is focusing his talents into a new direction, Children’s Books. After illustrating Cindy Williams’
ABA award nominated “Chase McKay Didn’t Get Up Today” Donald is now working on writing and illustrating
his own book titled “Willem Woe”, a dark and funny look at relationships through the eyes of an oddly uncomfortable
thirteen year old boy and the powers of chocolate.
Donald’s art has always appealed to children and to the child inside,
and his story telling does the same. So the future looks to be an exciting experience for all who follow his artistic adventures
that wait ahead!
